Membership Types

Whether you are a student or a working professional, joining the Special Care Dentistry Association is the right choice! As a member, you’ll gain support, access to educational programs and events, member discounts, and abundant opportunities to participate. With support from members like you, we can be a successful community resource for all oral health care professionals who serve patients with special needs.

Students

If you are currently enrolled in an accredited dental or dental hygiene program or are pursuing a graduate degree from an accredited college or institution of higher education, you are qualified to apply for student membership. SCDA recognized the challenges faced by students and in the spirit of giving back, offers students complimentary membership. Once you obtain your license, it is time to upgrade your student membership. Educational status must be validated upon application and/or renewal.

Note: If you would like to establish or renew an SCDA Student Network at your college or university the group must first have students register or renew online, and create a member ID number. Please include that number on the roster form when submitting the Student Network Application to be processed for membership. Any group of students with official recognition from their dental school may apply to be an official group of the SCDA Student Network.

Residents

Residents are enrolled full-time in a postdoctoral training program such as a General Practice Residency Program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program. Educational status must be validated upon application and/or renewal. Once you've completed your residency training, it is time to upgrade your membership. In recognition of the financial challenges faced by recent graduates, SCDA provides reduced membership dues for Residents.

Entry Level Dentists

If, in the past 12 months, you have graduated from dental or dental hygiene school, or completed a residency program you qualify for SCDA’s Entry Level Dentist membership. In recognition of the financial challenges faced by recent graduates, SCDA provides reduced membership dues for Entry Level Dentists.
