Special Care

• Special Care Dentistry is that branch of dentistry that provides oral care services for people with physical, medical, developmental, or cognitive conditions which limit their ability to receive routine dental care.

Oral Neglect in the Institutionalized Elderly

• SCDA has endorsed the consensus definition for oral neglect in the institutionalized elderly as published in the April 2010 issue of the Journal of the American Dental Assocation (Katz RV, Smith BJ, Berkey D, Guset A, and O’Connor MP.
