Membership TypesWhether you are a student or a working professional, joining the Special Care Dentistry Association is the right choice! As a member, you’ll gain support, access to educational programs and events, member discounts, and abundant opportunities to participate. With support from members like you, we can be a successful community resource for all oral health care professionals who serve patients with special needs. StudentsIf you are currently enrolled in an accredited dental or dental hygiene program or are pursuing a graduate degree from an accredited college or institution of higher education, you are qualified to apply for student membership. SCDA recognized the challenges faced by students and in the spirit of giving back, offers students complimentary membership. Once you obtain your license, it is time to upgrade your student membership. Educational status must be validated upon application and/or renewal.
ResidentsResidents are enrolled full-time in a postdoctoral training program such as a General Practice Residency Program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program. Educational status must be validated upon application and/or renewal. Once you've completed your residency training, it is time to upgrade your membership. In recognition of the financial challenges faced by recent graduates, SCDA provides reduced membership dues for Residents.
Entry Level DentistsIf, in the past 12 months, you have graduated from dental or dental hygiene school, or completed a residency program you qualify for SCDA’s Entry Level Dentist membership. In recognition of the financial challenges faced by recent graduates, SCDA provides reduced membership dues for Entry Level Dentists.
DentistsIf you are licensed to practice as a Dentist, you qualify to apply for Dentist Membership. Dentist members practice, teach, research, or provide administration in the area of special care dentistry.
HygienistsIf you are licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist, you qualify to apply for Hygienist Membership. Dental Hygienist members practice, teach, research, or provide administration in the area of special care dentistry.
Supporting MembersSupporting members are other oral healthcare practitioners, office managers, institutional representatives, and association/organization representatives that support the mission and goals of SCDA.
RetiredRetired membership is limited to members who have retired from active practice, teaching, research and administration. For an additional charge, retired members can continue to receive access to the Special Care in Dentistry journal and keep abreast of the latest in care for the special needs population.
Non-MembersNot quite ready to join SCDA but interested in attending an SCDA educational event, purchasing a product, or receiving association updates? Register now as a Non-member and upgrade your account at a later date. Non-members must create an account on SCDA's website to access registration or make a purchase.
